We are pleased to welcome Kristen to TGC.

Kristen Lai is joining TGC as a research and drafting contractor.  Kristen is not a lawyer in British Columbia.

Kristen began her legal background in London, England where she completed her law degree at the University of London, Queen Mary. She went on to obtain an LLM from the College of Law, Bloomsbury.

Kristen practiced as a solicitor in a private client law firm located in the heart of Mayfair. She represented high-net worth private clients, banks, real estate firms, and companies on various contentious commercial matters.

During Kristen’s practice, she regularly attended Companies and Chancery Court and the High Court on a range of different matters. She became adept at filing bankruptcy petitions, freezing injunctions, obtaining court orders, and presenting application notices. She worked on large scale breach of contract cases, professional negligence, misrepresentation, and corporate insolvency. Her experience provided her with the commercial and strategic ability to settle matters both inside and outside court.

Over time, Kristen’s birthplace (including her affiliation with the BC mountains) called her back home. After over a decade of living abroad, she moved back to Vancouver and articled with a large BC insurance law firm on numerous files, including construction law, host and alcohol liability, and tort law within the realm of insurance.

Kristen joins TGC on a practical basis since she still maintains working at a private real estate development company. She contributes her legal skills to our firm, assisting and supporting the senior partners on a legal research and consultant basis. We are pleased to include her on our team and benefit from her past legal experience.

Outside of work, Kristen is an avid snowboarder, plays golf, regularly jogs the seawall. In her life before a lawyer, she worked as a chef at a Michelin-starred restaurant and trained at Le Cordon Bleu Paris cooking school. It is a given that she loves to cook meals for friends and family.
