The Honourable Madam Justice Ballance of the BC Supreme Court today handed down reasons for judgment resolving the one issue that remained (to our knowledge) prior to what will hopefully be the final distribution.

The court approved an agreement between class counsel and Peter Gregg, represenative plaintiff, that fees will be paid to class counsel in a specific amount (just less than $40,000, including disbursements and taxes) for work undertaken by class counsel to finalize the issue of the class of persons entitled to share.  That issue took several court appearances and a formal hearing over several days.

Class counsel have informed the actuaries that this issue has been resolved.

The actuaries will proceed to complete the work necessary to effect the next (hopefully the last) distribution of settlement funds.
